About Us

Bluebird Crossing Designs was created in the summer of 2019 by Lori and John Hardage. Lori has been sewing since she was 10 years old and learned from her mother. She was active in 4-H as a child and won many ribbons for her sewing entries.
Lori 's first sewing machine was her grandmother's vintage Singer sewing machine. John purchased her a new Elna machine and Lori then fell in love with the art of quilting. After 24 years of quilting and several machines later, Lori took up machine embroidery. She and John talked about it and went up to Denver, CO and looked at Melco commercial machines.  They purchased a 16 needle commercial machine that enables them to embroider on shirts, hats, jackets, bags, dog collars, backpacks and pretty much anything else you can think of.
John has joined in on the fun! He is very mechanically inclinded and runs the Melco, fondly known as "The Beast".  They have created a shop on the farm in Giddings.
